The Young Dancer program, for children aged 3 to 7, is designed to introduce children to dance by building on their innate natural movement through different dance genres in a fun and creative way.  Annual studio demonstrations and stage performances enhance the child’s experience by providing attainable goals and opportunities for teamwork.

Mini Movers, Ages 3

This class develops natural movement, acting, and musicality through activities appropriate to the students’ innate creativity and physical skills.  Each weekly class will include creative movement and tap.  Movements are based on classical ballet and theatrical tap with the use of props and stories that inspire expression.  Students will learn about using their bodies, an awareness of space, and class etiquette.

Leap & Learn 1, Ages 4

This class further develops natural movement and creative expression.  Students expand spatial awareness to include others around them.  Choreography will help students learn to count music, execute patterns of steps, and create shapes with other dancers in space.  Each class will include sections in classical ballet and tap, along with the introduction of other dance genres such as character dance, modern dance, and social dance.

Leap & Learn 2, Ages 5

In this class, concepts are combined in greater complexity with the challenge to clarify movement and expression. Introductory barre work and ballet terminology will develop listening skills and musicality. Basic tap skills will be expanded to include choreography with an emphasis on showmanship.
